iaitu ada unsur haram dimakan iaitu dari unsur binatang (yg dikhuatiri cara penyembelihannya)
itu aku dpt from several emails n from my parents
bila kita dah was-was perkara paling baik ialah tinggalkan terus
betul tak?
jadi aku tatau apa nk buat ngan cekelat ni..byk lak tu :-/

here are some searching that i did:
Search Engine: Google
1. Word: E476
Result:
Also known as 'polyglycerol esters of polycondensed fatty acids of castor oil' as it is produced from castor oil and glycerol esters.

Can be found in low fat spreads and dressings and cocoa-based, chocolate confectionery.

It is used to help reduce the viscosity of molten chocolate, so improving the fluidity and enabling thinner coatings. Also helps chocolate set where water is present e.g. chocolate ice creams. Often used in conjunction with Lecithin (E322).

Vegetarians should note that although industrial manufacturing based on propylene or sugar accounts for a large percentage of glycerol production it can be obtained as a by-product in making soap from animal and vegetable fats and oils.

Website: E476

2. I`ve made a search in thesaurus.com and also in dictionary.com to find out what is actually castor and i found out that it actually means fur from beaver

3. From UK Food guide with the same searching word (E476), the result was likely as the first website i found on what is actually 'E476'. Moreover it was used mainly in cakes and chocolates:
Mainly used in icings, toppings and in cake mixes (to control fat crystallisation). Can be found in low fat spreads and dressings and cocoa-based, chocolate confectionery. Also in spreadable fats having a fat content of 41% or less, similar spreadable products with a fat content of less than 10% fat , and dressings

4. Word: E476 and halal
Results: From HalalConsumers.com(UK society) claims that:
The Halal Symbol CANNOT be used for any products containing the following:
7. THE FOLLOWING "E" ADDITIVES:

E120, E140, E141, E153, E160a, E252, E471, E472, E473, E474, E475, E476, E477, E481, E482, E483, 478, 491, 492, 493, 494, 495, 542, 570, 572, 631, 635, 640, 904, 920

Unless of course any of these additives are derived from plants. Note: Any number with no E means that the additive has been approved by the UK, but not yet by the European Community.

5. Another UK website also state that E476 is among the 'E' additives that are not halal. This website also contains other products' ingredients that are haram such as Gelatine (from animal), rennet (from animal), some cakes, drinks, snacks, chocolates etc. You should read this website! This website also suggest that any foods for vegetarians (NO animal content) are definitely halal unless it contains alcohol.

6. I`m sorry that i cannot find any article in Malaysia's website regarding this matter. All i can find is a discussion board discussing `bout this matter. Pls click here to read the postings.

There you go..hmm..mostly the website that i found are UKs. Wonder if there is any websites in Malaysia to explains this additives. Anybody?

I hope u guys would be very careful in future when buying any products specially foods. Allah had said in the Quran:
"O you people! Eat of what is on earth, lawful and clean..."(Quran 2:168)
"O ye who believe! Eat of the good things wherewith We have provided you, and render thanks to Allah if it is (indeed) He whom ye worship" (2:172).
"And eat not of that whereon Allah's name hath not been mentioned, for lo! it is abomination. Lo! the devils do inspire their minions to dispute with you. But if ye obey them, ye will be in truth idolaters" (6:121).

and His messanger prophet Muhammad sallallahu`alaihiwassalam said:
"Use whatever causes blood to flow, and eat the animals if the Name of Allah has been mentioned on slaughtering them..." (Bukhari).

it definitely, clearly stated that any animal slaughtered without mentioning the Name of Allah (unlawful) are forbidden to eat. And Allah and Rasul only want the best for us :)

I know that i just copy paste any articles/Quran/Hadith but as long as what i want to say reached you guys, then what the heck! :D
Be careful on what you eat as it would become your blood and your up brought..

fewh! an 80% english entry! eheh
should do this more often ;)
